Almost forgot!!

Almost forgot to blog about our trip home!

Or perhaps that should read, was going to conveniently forget. :) Because we "vacationed" right to the very end...and stopped at Tim Horton's for some DONUTS on the way to the airport.

Actually pretty funny, because on the way OUT, we saw a Tim Hortons across the street from the place we filled up on gas, and thought it would be a grand place to stop on our way home. But...forgot what exit it was. However, on our way home, we needed to stop for gas again, and wouldn't you know? We pulled into the exact same exit, and got to have our donuts and coffee after all!! Something makes me think God delights in doing little things like that. :) At least I like to think so. Because it means He WANTED me to eat those donut holes! :D

Ahh...car food. I just got the last of THIS vacuumed out of the seats. :)

And just got over the caffeine (withdrawal) induced headaches from all THIS.

And THESE...are the healthy orange snack we packed but didn't eat. :D

So we had fun, but the day rather matched the sadness of having to go to the airport and separate yet again.

Until next time, sweet Kindred Spirit!!
Love you and thank the Lord for your sweet friendship!!!
What a gift you are to me. :)
And how GLAD I am it worked out for you to come this spring!!

The House...

So maybe you can't tell...but I just fell in love with Mrs. Forsythe's old house!!

Michelle and her Grandma.
:)

Big ol' trumpet vine that twined all around what they think was the original hitching post of the house. :)

And who woulda thunk it? ;)
Peacocks!
Added to the whole Post-Colonial America feel!

But to keep things real, we moved up a century or so, and went to Skyway for supper the last night. Burgers, fries, onion rings, and California Fizz!!

Still MORE travels

But this time, I had company!
On my way home from my grandma's in Ohio, I dropped by the Cincinnati airport to see who was coming and going...
and lo and behold!
There was my dear friend Michelle!!

So I figured since she was there, I may as well take her home with me, and we enjoyed a lovely (if very busy!) 5 days at home before striking off on more adventures.

And northward we went!
To visit Michelle's grandparents in Northern Ohio.
It was only a 5 hour drive, or so. But we managed to take 11 hours to get up there. Hee hee.

Snack and drink pickups
Hobby Lobby.
Thai for lunch.
Outlet mall.
Milkshakes.
You know...just the necessities.

THESE I hid from Michelle though.
 :)

Actually, we'd left them in a hot car and were attempting to save them by blasting them with cold air. It worked quite well.

But at long last we arrived at Michelle's grandma's beautiful home, visited for a while, and settled into our lovely bedroom.

Next few days were filled with exploration of the neat 200 year old house, outings with Grandma, and making friends with the cats.

Whitey was my particular favorite.

And here follow some pics of the inside of the house!

The stenciling on the wall is thought to be original to the home, back in the early 1800s. Built not all that long after the American Revolution!

Next up, pics of the outside!

Travels...and more travels!

Pulled into the driveway this afternoon at last, after many travels and adventures over the past 3 weeks!
Beautiful places seen,
lovely friends met,
and at last, my very own soft pillow waiting for me. :)

It's fun to go, but it's wonderful to come back home!

Trip #1.
Ohio to visit Oma and Grandma!
Not many pictures, but the ones I DID get describe it well...
serene
restful
quiet
full of little joys
:)
