This is a very favorite recipe at our house for chocolate sauce. Be it vanilla, peppermint stick, or cookie dough ice cream...this is the topping of choice!! Be warned...it's fast, easy, and fudgy! You might find yourself making this frequently!!
Hard-Shell Ice Cream Sauce
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 c. butter, cubed
3 T. evaporated milk (or half and half)
In a heavy saucepan, combine the chips, butter and milk. Cook and stir over low heat until chocolate chips are melted and the mixture is smooth. Serve warm over vanilla ice cream (the sauce will harden). Refrigerate any leftovers. The sauce can be reheated in the microwave.
